Canon printers use small and spongy cleaning pads to soak the excess amount of ink that gathers on the cartridges of a printer while printing and cleaning the print heads.
When these cleaning pads become saturated, you will be notified with an error message saying your “Ink Absorber Full.”
When you face such an issue with your printer, it is advisable that you send the printer for servicing.
You can also replace the ink absorber pads at home.
The steps to replace an ink absorber are mentioned below-
Step 1: First, you have to open the printer causing the cartridge cradle to move to the center of the printing unit.
Step 2: Find the unused ink absorbers in their black colored rubber frame. You will most likely get it on the right side of your printer, below the place where the ink cartridges are placed at the time of standby mode of the printer.
Step 3: You can absorb the excess ink that might remain in the pads with a paper napkin or any other disposable and absorbent material.
Step 4: Remove the rubber frame free from the printer using your wearing gloves if you want to keep your hands clean. You need to be careful while replacing the ink absorber cloth from the rubber frame.
Step 5: Place a new ink absorber pad tightly into the rubber frame. Keep the rubber frame in its initial position and close the printer.
Step 6: Press the power button and switch the printer back in. Press and hold the power button till the printer starts working again.
Step 7: When the green light turns off, press and release the power button again. The light will blink for two to three seconds before being stable. It indicates that the printer has been reset and is ready to print again without errors. If you fail to replace the ink absorber on a canon printer even after following the above steps, you need to contact Canon Printer Customer Service Number and take.
