Macbook Liquid Damage Repair is a trickiest repair due to the liquid being one of the worst enemies of all electronics.
The reason for that is the growing complexity behind the laptop circuit designs, as well as manufacturers trying to lock down on repairs.
Instead of releasing schematics, chips and consider sustainability, they prefer to sell a new laptop and try to condemn 2 or more year old MacBooks as legacy and outdated.

How does it happen?

As seen in the picture, these components have a high density and are small in size. Black resistors on the right corner are as big as the tip of a needle!
Even a little drop of liquid reached these components may cover traces and short components. This may cause the Macbook to not be able to take charge or even turn on.
Furthermore, a chemical reaction occurs when the battery keeps feeding the system. Longer it stays around circuits, heavier damage it makes. Have a look at some of our Macbook liquid damage repair cases.
The Myth
Unfortunately, there is widespread misinformation regarding leaving water damaged MacBooks in a bag of rice. Or even worse to let them dry by themself.
These procedures may have worked with the old laptops where we could easily unclip and remove the battery to completely stop the power circulation in the system.
However, modern laptops are designed with built-in batteries making them hard to disconnect without having the right tools. And exactly this is the killer of all these water damaged MacBooks out there.
This constant electricity flow in water damaged Macbook, copper traces which connect each component in the mac start oxidising and part of the traces got “eaten” away by the corrosion. Also results in short circuits caused by bridged legs of IC chips or other components. There is a great article about the effects of corrosion here.
Some of the symptoms which may indicate the need for Macbook Liquid Damage Repair:
