The error code 0x97 on your Epson Printer forces the product to shut down immediately. Without fixing this issue, using your printer may not be possible in the long-term. Here are some ways to clear this issue.
How to Fix an Epson Printer Error Code 0x97
- Remove All Connected Devices
First, disconnect all devices that are currently paired with the printer. This also means you must cancel any printing tasks, and remove any jammed paper. Disconnect all USB cables, cords, and wires from your printer.
- Reconnect The Devices
Once you remove the connected wires and plugs, switch off the power button on your printer. Wait for a few seconds and turn it back on. Then, reconnect all the cables and wires to the printer.
- Reset The Printer
If the problem persists, reset your printer. Make sure your printer is off and disconnected from all devices. Remove any jammed paper. Next, press and hold the power button for a few minutes, and reconnect the devices while holding it.
- Clean The Printhead
A clogged printhead can also cause this error. First, remove the ink cartridges with care and place them on a clean paper towel. Next, remove the printhead from the product and wipe its bottom gently with a warm and wet lint-free cloth. Let it dry completely before you put it back inside.
- Reinstall The Drivers
Faulty drivers may also cause errors. In case there is malware in the printer drivers, the error cannot be resolved without reinstalling the drivers. Uninstall the drivers and reinstall them to remove the issues.
