How to Use a Bread Machine to Make Biscuits
Whether you believe it or not, the concept of making biscuits in a bread machine is a little deceptive. While the bread machine automates the mixing process, the biscuits must still be baked in the oven.
Despite the somewhat misguided concept, using a bread machine to make biscuits can significantly reduce the time spent in the kitchen. Prove it to yourself by attempting it!
Combine all ingredients in the bread machine's bin. The dry ingredients should be added first, followed by the liquid ingredients.
Select the dough setting on the machine and allow the dough to mix and process.
After the dough setting is complete, remove the dough from the bread machine and place it on a floured surface.
On a floured surface, roll the dough until it is approximately ½ inch thick.
Cut your biscuits with a circular cookie cutter.
Grease a cookie sheet and arrange the cut biscuits on it.
Allow the sheet to sit until the biscuits have doubled in size.
Arrange the biscuit tray in the oven's middle rack. Ascertain that the stove is COLD.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and bake the biscuits for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove the biscuits from the oven carefully, allow them to cool slightly to avoid self-burning, and serve them while still warm!
Tip
Avoid preheating the oven before inserting the tray.
Warning
When removing trays or pans from a hot oven, always wear protective gear such as oven mitts or potholders.
