Every now and then, you stumble across a film that completely surprises you; partially because you weren’t anticipating anything so fantastic, and partly because you’re immensely entertained. The Savages is precisely like that.
The Savages starts out like any other heist movie. However, it soon becomes clear that the female criminal duo, who takes up most of the movie’s screentime, is nothing like what you’ve ever seen. If I must attempt a comparison, I’ll say they are like DC’s Harley Quinn on steriods. Clad in orange jumpsuits (because orange is the new black, I guess), the pair are bold and fearless in their notoriety. They have no qualms about crashing a 24-hour reality TV show (similar to the Big Brother Naija series) that is broadcast live across the country, carting away with the possession of a housemate, and bouncing out into Lagos traffic like it is no man’s business.Perhaps, what is so jarring about this flick is just how funny it is. It embraces its comical nature and isn’t at all ashamed of it. Its humour is like well-made pap, easy to swallow and digest; not the forced witless humour Nollywood is famous for. While we have seen heist movies, and heist comedies, trust me when I say that nothing compares to The Savages. For Famous Artist Night Out (FANO), The Savages is written and directed by Samuel OJ (Irok Viralz). It is produced by Ayewa Ehijie Bright. The comedy stars Juliet Ibrahim, Jide Kosoko, Uche Ebere, Faith Samuel Keyz and Oluwaseun Omowuyi, For More Info:- https://bit.ly/3v2t8v3
