Coach Hong Myung-bo to hold press conference on taking over as national team manager on the 29th

National soccer team coach Hong Myung-bo will hold an inauguration press conference on the 29th.


The Korea Football Association announced on the 24th, “Coach Hong Myung-bo will hold an inauguration press conference at 11 AM on the 29th at the Korea Football Association Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul.”


Coach Hong, who officially took over as head coach of the national soccer team after receiving approval from the Korea Football Association’s board of directors on the 13th, embarked on his first schedule as head coach of the national team by going on a business trip to Europe two days later on the 15th to interview foreign coaches.


After completing the interview with foreign coaches, Coach Hong went to England and had a one-on-one meeting with national team captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham), then moved to Germany to meet with Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) and Lee Jae-sung (Mainz), and then to Serbia to meet with Hwang In-beom and Seol Young-woo (both Zvezda).


According to the Korea Football Association, Coach Hong is scheduled to return to Korea via Incheon International Airport on the morning of the 25th after completing his business trip to Europe.


At his inaugural press conference on the 29th, Coach Hong is expected to personally brief the reporter about his business trip to Europe and explain and persuade the controversies and criticism surrounding him.


Meanwhile, criticism of the Korea Football Association over the appointment process for Coach Hong is growing stronger day by day.
