Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL, the mid-range and lower-priced models of the company’s flagship Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

Google is expected to announce its new Pixel devices - thought to be the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL - in October 2019.There have been several rumours surrounding the devices, as well as some official leaks from Google itself, but how are they expected to compare to their predecessors?
Here are the rumoured specifications for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL against the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.DesignPixel 3: 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mmPixel 3 XL: 158 x 76.7 x 7.9mmPixel 4: 147 x 68.9 x 8.2mm (tbc)Pixel 4 XL: 160.4 x 75.2 x 8.2mm (tbc)We know the Pixel 4 and 4 XL will look different to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL from the rear as Google confirmed the Pixel 4 will feature a square camera housing in the top left corner - which we presume the larger device will also offer - while the 2018 devices have a single camera lens.We also presume the Pixel 4 XL won't have a notch at the top of its display like the Pixel 3 XL as a bezel is required to fit in the Google Soli chip and the extra sensors Google has confirmed for the Pixel 4.We still expect to see a two-tone rear on the Pixel 4 devices though, like the Pixel 3 handsets, as well as a coloured power button, no 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C.
There's a good chance the Pixel 4 devices will ditch the physical fingerprint sensor found on the rear of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL devices for an under-display option however.DisplayPixel 3: 5.5-inch, Full HD+, 60HzPixel 3 XL: 6.3-inch, Quad HD+, 60HzPixel 4: 5.6-inch to 5.8-inch, Full HD+, 90HzPixel 4 XL: 6.2-inch to 6.4-inch, Quad HD+, 90Hz We're expecting both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL to have a bezel at the top and bottom of their displays in order to fit in those extra sensors we mentioned.
It's rumoured the Pixel 4 will have a display between 5.6-inches and 5.8-inches, while the Pixel 4 XL's display is said to be between 6.2-inches and 6.4-inches.
It's also claimed the new Pixels could offer a 90Hz refresh rate like the OnePlus 7 Pro, which should deliver a much smoother experience than the current models and their 60Hz refresh rates.Resolution hasn't been detailed in leaks as yet but it wouldn't be surprising to see the smaller model adopt Full HD+ and the larger model Quad HD+, as the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.The Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch screen, while the Pixel 3 XL has a 6.3-inch display, meaning the PIxel 4 might increase the display size, but the Pixel 4 XL is likely to offer the same as its predecessor but with a bezel instead of a notch.CamerasPixel 3/3 XL: 12.2MP rear, Dual 8MP frontPixel 4/4 XL: Dual rear, single front reportedThe Pixel 4 and 4 XL are both expected to have a dual rear camera within a square camera housing, rather than a single sensor like the Pixel 3 and 3 XL.It's claimed the dual rear camera on the new devices will be comprised of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel telephoto sensor, while the Pixel 3 and 3 XL both have a 12.2-megapixel sensor, which offers brilliant results. On the front, it's expected the Pixel 4 and 4 XL will offer a single camera lens based on the image Google released showing the Soli chip setup.
Given how great the Pixel 3 camera results are, we hope Google will ensure the new devices offer the same so we expect features like Night Sight on board the new models too, despite the spec change.HardwarePixel 3/3 XL: SD845, 4GB RAM, 64GB and 128GB storage, no microSDPixel 4/4 XL: SD855, 6GB RAM, no microSDThe Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL are both expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB RAM.
