Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, More hit NYT’s January bestseller list

The eighth volume of Tatsuki Fujimoto‘s Man with chainsaw manga, the 13th volume of Gege Akutami‘s Jujutsu kaisen manga, Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga, and the second volume of Koyoharu Gotouge‘s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga classified on The New York Times’ monthly list of graphic books and manga bestsellers published in early January.

The eighth volume of Man with chainsaw ranked # 8. The 13th volume of Jujutsu kaisen ranked # 10, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ranked # 13. The second volume of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ranked 15th on the list.

The New York Times released its first new chart book and manga bestseller list in October 2019, and it’s a category of the journal’s new bestseller lists.

The seventh volume of Man with chainsaw ranked n ° 2 in November. The 34th volume of The attack of the Titans ranked # 3, the 12th volume of Jujutsu kaisen classified at n ° 8, the first volume of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ranked # 9, and the sixth volume of SPY X FAMILY ranked 15th on the list.

The New York Times recently shared its list of best-selling Graphic Books and Manga for January 2022, and the first week of the New Year sees big Jump manga titles among the top fifteen releases. The eighth volume of Tatsuki Fujimoto's peerless Chainsaw Man manga sits proudly in the number eight spot between Scholastic hits like Kristy and the Snobs by Ann M. Martin and For Whom The Ball Rolls by Dav Pilkey as the highest-ranking manga of the month. This is also despite being released only one month ago in December 2021.

Just below that we have two Jujutsu Kaisen volumes on the list, with Volume 13 at #10 and the prequel Volume 0 landing appropriately enough at #13 on the list. Finally, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba's steam-powered bullet train doesn't stop, as Volume 2 of the manga brings up the rear at #15.

You can read the full list—which has not one, not two, but four comics by Dog Man's Dav Pilkey in the top four spots—at the NYT website.

Fujimoto kicked off the Chainsaw Man manga in Jump back in December of 2018, and concluded what we now know to be the first part in December 2020. An anime adaptation is currently in the works at MAPPA with the broadcast premiere set for sometime this year.
